Even assuming they'd agree, which is unlikely, FSF would require
copyright assignment paperwork, to be signed and physically mailed by
each contributor. This would apply to future updates as well.

The paper itself is no big deal (author retains the right to license
the software under any terms they wish), but hunting down contributors
to persuade them to sign the papers is definitely not what I had in
mind when I started this thread ;-)
