Hi;

I've been happily running FreeBSD-amd64, and while some stuff from the ports
tree still need work and not even OSS supports my sound harware, in general,
it's really nice to use.

While it has been discussed here that VESA doesn't work, it would still be nice
to be able to load simple VGA splash screens, I tried but the module didn't
load (in fact there is no module). Maybe I had something wrong, has anyone done
it? BTW, for those interested in KGI, it doesn't build yet due to 64bit issues
:(.

Another thing is that I've been trying to do some updates and testing with the
SVR4 compat module but it looks like it's never been considered for amd64. With
a couple OpenSolaris live filesystem distributions out there now available it
would be a nice thing to have.

cheers,

    Pedro.
