The system still boots as I can type commands blindly and issue the shutdown command, though I can't see myself doing any of this. Serial support is to blame; things work fine with when it is disabled. I have a Pentium 75 system with a ATI Mach64 video card. Any hints on getting the systen to work with serial support so the screen stays sane?
