FreeBSD 4.3 stable box, usually just a network server though a hardware
modem is installed;

sio0: <3COM PCI FaxModem> port 0xe400-0xe407 irq 10 at device 13.0 on pci0
sio0: moving to sio4
sio4: type 16550A

need to have modem dialup to remote ftp server, transfer via ftp the
contents of a flat text file, then disconnect.

also need to have the modem dialup to remote ftp server, retrieve a file via
ftp, then disconnect.

connection is PPP over dialup using TCP/IP with dynamically assigned IP
address. This is the only use for the modem.

Would appreciate some configuration as far as establishing the appropriate
connection as this is the first requirement to use a modem in conjunction
with FreeBSD (expensive Cisco access servers do the bulk of dialup
connectivity).

Thanks

Dave
