But but but I didn't change the probe code at all, just when/how it
was called.  I'm very confused.  Why would the kernel change the
unit numbers for pcic unit when you changed this bios setting.  I'm
mondo confused...

The ep card is the most tested with my patches....

Lemme know.

There are two reports in the nomads mailing list about a problem
similar to yours.  I posted the bit about using 'controller pnp0', but 
not the BIOS part (mostly because I don't understand things completely 
yet)[*].  I'm very curious about what's going on...
