If you have installed the same versions of XFree86 on both the RedHat 5.1 and the FreeBSD boxes, then all you need to do is copy /etc/X11/XF86Config from your Linux box to /etc/XF86Config on FreeBSD, and also, check which X server /etc/X11/X is symlinked to on the RedHat 5.1 box.
