INIT:  Command is respawning too rapidly.  Check for possible errors

OK.  I admit it.  This is Solaris 2.7.

However, I have had what I think are equivalent problems with BSD3.4.
Besides, it is
all Unix 8).

Any hints as to what I should look for when I get it back up in single-user
mode?
