maybe refresh you db.cache file?

dig @a.root-servers.net . ns > /etc/namedb/db.cache
ndc reload

and turn on logging to see more of what´s going on, paste in the logging 
statement on my config page on BIND8 site in my sig, adjust for FreeBSD paths.
