If so, what are pitfalls > or things to watch out for? > i don't think vmware 4 works on freebsd since, iirc, the linux version loads a kernel module and thus can't be run under the linux compatibility layer. however, there are older versions of vmware in the ports tree under emulators/ which work on freebsd (at least did work on 5.2.1) kind regards, phil.
