I had some problems with stale NFS handle when
NFS-mounting two FreeBSD 5.1 client (one with the
frozen 5.1 and one as of Oct. 10'th) to a Linux server
with ReiserFS.

When I mounted with ver. 2 the problems went away on
the FreeBSD with source from Oct. 10'th and have less
stale NFS handles with the frozen 5.1.

Claus
