hi,
as i am fairly new to freebsd (ive worked on unix systems at school)
maybe you can help me.
first: sorry for my english :-)
ok, ive installed and configured fbsd to suit my needs and everything
run fine. since two days the machine reboots and i cant reproduce this
error. it occurs randomly (at last it seems to be random for me).
but before the machine reboots i get one of the two error messages:
the first one:
panic: pmap_release: freeing held page table page
syncing discs...
reboot
the second one:
fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
fault virtual address: 0xe
fault code: supervisor write, page not present

this failure comes up on different actions so i dont know how to
reproduce it. sometimes when i start a program like pine or ls.
sometimes it comes when someone accesses a samba share.
my freebsd release is 4.1
