Subject: Problem with comconsole

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a 2.2.6-RELEASE box with a serial console.

The machine currently has a video card and keyboard, but these will be
removed once the machine is installed and the serial console working.

I've got a null modem cable between 2 FBSD boxes, the first is the
machine that is to have a serial console, the second machine is to act as
a terminal to the first..

I boot up the machine and the boot prompts come out on the video card,
which isn't a problem, I enter the options '-hd' to use the serial port as
the console.

On the second FBSD box I run 'cu -l cuaa1 -s 9600'. As soon as I connect
the first machine is sitting at the db> prompt. Enter cont to continue and
the machine boots. It gets to the sc0 initialisation, cu close down... I
reconnect and see

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
fault virtual address = 0x4
fault code = supervisor read, page not present
instruction pointer = 0x8:0xf01be7ee

processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
current process = 0 ()
interrupt mask =
kernel: type 12 trap, code=0
Stopped at _cninit_finish+0x26: movl 0x4(%edx),%eax

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Gavin
