You are using a cvsup with x-window support builtin. If you don't want 
to use the x-window version, download the non-gui version from 
http://people.freebsd.org/~jdp/s1g/. The 16.1e version doesn't have 
the 9 Sep 2001 bug and checks for fixed servers.
