Is it absolutely necessary to use cdrecord once atapicam is in the
kernel? I'm using
  # growisofs -Z /dev/cd0 -R -J /path/to/files
for burning dvds and
  # burncd -f /dev/acd0 -s 4 data /path/to/isofile fixate
for burning cds interchangeably without problems.

At least, no problems cropped up yet.
