Hello- I like bash, and so use it for all my accounts, including root. In the root home directory (/root) the .bash_history file has permissions such that anyone can read it, for instance to get mysql admin passwords, etc. Wow - glad it's only me on this system! Should I be so surprised at this? Shouldn't the file be defaulted by bash to readable only by the owner?
