Thanks for your reply. Here is what i needed to do with this box. Like i mentioned b4, i need to run this as a webserver using stronghold with the ability of running mod-perl. That's it. Small is beautiful -- Axiom 0 of the Unix world. By the way, you have over 3,200 applications (editors, graphics, math, http, ftp, mail, networking, ...) at your disposal in the ports/packages system: the concept of "necessity" depends decidedly on what you are going to do with your FreeBSD box. If you state your needs more precisely, somebody in this list will be able to give you excellent advice. You can begin by having a look at pkg_add(1) and ports(7), as well as at the excellent FreeBSD handbook in the meantime.
