On =D0'=D1=D4=CE=C9=C3=D1 11 =D3=A6=DE=C5=CE=D8 2008, Hans Petter Selasky w=
rote:
=3D I think you misunderstand. If there is a mass storage device it will ap=
pear
=3D like /dev/da0. If there is a libusb device it will have t
=3D use /dev/usbX.Y.Z.

I understand, that you have no intention of /replacing/ daX with /dev/usbX.=
Y.Z

My point was, the device's name should, if it is not too difficult, reflect=
=20
its function. So, if a particular device is a printer, for example, it shou=
ld=20
be seen as /dev/ulptX in addition to being seen as /dev/ugenY or,=20
indeed, /dev/usbX.Y.Z

We have /dev/cdX AND /dev/passY, for another example. Here is my `camcontro=
l=20
devlist':

<COMPAQ RAID 0  VOLUME OK>         at scbus0 target 0 lun 0 (da0,pass0)
<COMPAQ RAID 0  VOLUME OK>         at scbus0 target 1 lun 0 (da1,pass1)
<YAMAHA CRW4416S 1.0g>             at scbus1 target 2 lun 0 (pass2,cd0)
<NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:465 1.13>        at scbus1 target 5 lun 0 (pass3,cd1)
<Generic USB SD Reader 1.00>       at scbus3 target 0 lun 0 (da2,pass4)
<Generic USB CF Reader 1.01>       at scbus3 target 0 lun 1 (da3,pass5)
<Generic USB SM Reader 1.02>       at scbus3 target 0 lun 2 (da4,pass6)
<Generic USB MS Reader 1.03>       at scbus3 target 0 lun 3 (da5,pass7)
<MATSHITA DVD-RAM SW-9585 B100>    at scbus7 target 0 lun 0 (pass8,cd2)

But these are cosmetics, really -- paint this bikeshed any way you want, as=
=20
long as the roof is not leaking :-)
