Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-smp@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org I have seen some traffic on this thread recently wrt SCSI problems with CAM and SMP on the 3.0 port ... Unfortunately, I neither paid much heed, nor archived them ... can anyone indicate if patches are available, and if so where?? I'm experiencing problems with the SCSI disk. I am using a seagate elite 410800N 9GB scsi disk with tagged queueing: da0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device da0: 10.0MB/s transfers (10.0MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled da0: 8669MB (17755614 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 1105C) I've got a QDI IV motherboard with the latest firmware, dual PII 233's and an onboard Adaptec 7880: ahc0:rev 0x00 int a irq 11 on pci0.11.0 ahc0: aic7880 Single Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs I'm getting wierd messages, a few of which I've copied below: (probe0:ahc0:0:0): SCB 0x3 - timed out in message phase, SCSISIGI == 0xe5 SEQADDR == 0x161 SSTAT1==0x3 (probe0:ahc0:0:0:0): BDR message in messge buffer ahc0:A:0: Missed busfree. ahc:0:A:0: no active SCB for reconnecting target -- issuing BUS DEVICE RESET ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset. 1 SCBs aborted The upshot is that the box doesn't come up in dual mode at all, though earlier snaps worked well with IDE drives. I'm working reasonably well in single CPU mode ... and UnixWare likes the machine with both CPU's a blazin'. Has anyone encountered these problems, and/or have a fix for same?? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Rob. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Robert S. Sciuk 1032 Howard Rd. PO Box 6A Ph:905 632-2466 Control-Q Research Burlington, Ont.
