I'll be adding back gnuregex.h then for 5.x.  The header should NOT go
away mid-branch like this.  Ports may depend on it, other 3rd party
software may depend on it.

We can have a gnuregex.h wrapper while still not changing the GNU
sources.  Your change is well welcomed, but we must keep some
compatability with the past.
