Hi, > I would like to know where is a good Internet resource in locating > FreeBSD software/shareware/freeware. I have looked in many places, but > was unsuccessful. Your help is greatly appreciated. ftp.freebsd.org! FreeBSD has over 1500 ports of software available through the ports collection ranging from web servers and browsers to bank account balancing programs (similar to Quicken). You can find the ports (or the packages if you prefer not to compile your own) at : ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports or in /usr/ports if you have installed the ports tree. Packages can be found at: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/packages See the handbook in /usr/share/doc/handbook or at www.freebsd.org to get an idea how to use and install ports or packages.
