Sadly, I found that same advice (down;up) in a newsgroup posting, tried it several times, with differing delays between, and no joy. Saw this a couple of days ago on a 2.2.8-STABLE box that has been running without a glitch for a long time. Don't know what caused it; OACTIVE basically seems to indicate it's stuck in transmit.
