I have just installed PC-BSD 7.0.1 on my notebook. Having finished the inst=
allation, I deactivated the automatic sound card detection by commenting sn=
ddetect_enable=3D"YES" in /etc/rc.conf. Afterwards I added the line snd_uau=
dio_load=3D"YES" to /boot/loader.conf to output the sound to an external US=
B speaker.=0A=0AAfter reboot, I could see clearly in the middle of the init=
ialization phase that PC-BSD recognized my USB speaker. However at the end =
of the initialization phase, PC-BSD tried to set the value of dev.pcm.0.pla=
y.vchans and I saw an error message as follows:=0Asysctl: dev.pcm.0.play.vc=
hans : operation not supported by device.=0A=0AThen I opened an audio file =
to test the USB speaker and I did not hear any sound at all.=0A=0ACould som=
