It should be not needed, since I have subscribed again to the freebsd-alpha list and I receive it now. I had subscribed to this list a couple of months ago, but perhaps the confirmation email has had problems or I missed to send back the confirmation. Anyway, this is now fixed. Dirk reported the spurious SCSI parity problem with Wide SCSI devices that has been fixed in latest `sym' driver (committed on 02/13). The Release candidate 4.0 for Alpha that fails on Dirk's machine is CD 2/11 and thus hasn't the corresponding fix for the `sym' driver. G=E9rard.
