I just tell people it's because "you have a devil of a time trying to make it
crash." Or, "because Jesus didn't want anything to do with computers." Try,
"Hell if I know?" When speaking to non-computer literate people, try "Because
the kernel processes fork at high rate creating a lot of heat in the lower
levels of the OS."
