I don't have DHCP turned on. I usually would try 192.168.0.8 but its currently connected by cat5 in interface xl0 I tried changing to ch 10, no difference. It is only until I try adhoc mode that it starts working - see here: wireless# ifconfig ndis0 mediaopt adhoc ndis0: flags=8c43 mtu 1500 inet 10.0.0.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.0.255 inet6 fe80::20f:66ff:fe6e:edf7%ndis0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 ether 00:0f:66:6e:ed:f7 media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect (DS/11Mbps ) status: associated ssid linksys-jon 1:linksys-jon channel 10 authmode OPEN powersavemode OFF powersavesleep 100 rtsthreshold 2312 protmode CTS wepmode OFF weptxkey 1 /var/log/messages says Dec 30 17:33:26 wireless kernel: ndis0: mem 0xff000000-0xff001fff irq 10 at device 14.0 on pci0 Dec 30 17:33:26 wireless kernel: ndis0: NDIS API version: 5.0 Dec 30 17:33:26 wireless kernel: ndis0: Ethernet address: 00:0f:66:6e:ed:f7 Dec 30 17:33:26 wireless kernel: ndis0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps Dec 30 17:33:26 wireless kernel: ndis0: 11g rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps Dec 30 18:44:46 wireless kernel: ndis0: link up Dec 30 18:44:51 wireless kernel: ndis0: watchdog timeout -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org] On Behalf Of James Jhai Sent: Thursday, 30 December 2004 6:29 PM To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Ndisulator - Linksys wireless-g PCI card Project Evil Jon, Is your router ip set to 10.0.0.*? Or is there a route for 10.0.0.0 on it... Is dhcp enabled on the router? (disable it if so, I have had problems with some dhcp not allowing ips if it didn't set them) I noticed the channel is -1 as well, not sure if that matters... I am far from an expert, so your have to forgive me if I am not much help. -- - James _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
