ok, the first spits back this:
root 255 0.0 0.6 940 580 ?? I Fri06PM 0:00.01
/usr/libexec/gettystd.9600 ttyd0
root 256 0.0 0.6 940 580 ?? I Fri06PM 0:00.01
/usr/libexec/gettystd.9600 ttyd1

and the second:
root getty 256 root / 2 drwxr-xr-x 512 r
root getty 256 wd / 2 drwxr-xr-x 512 r
root getty 256 text /usr 1277710 -r-xr-xr-x 21256 r
root getty 255 root / 2 drwxr-xr-x 512 r
root getty 255 wd / 2 drwxr-xr-x 512 r
root getty 255 text /usr 1277710 -r-xr-xr-x 21256 r

I'm going to try Ted's suggestion about the cable. Maybe it's a wiring
thing.

Thanks

Eric
