Yes, you're right. I fat-fingered this.
The resulting cmb(1) binary is a bit bigger than cmp:

-r-xr-xr-x  1 root  wheel    39K Dec 12 15:40 /usr/bin/cmb

the library:

-r--r--r--  1 root  wheel    27K Dec 12 15:42 /usr/lib/libcmb.so.0
