I think we might be talking about two different things.  I'm talking
about Appendix F of the Handbook.  I think you might be talking about
the Supported Hardware section of chapter 2 (it's section 2.3).

I'd have no problem with seeing 2.3 be replaced with a note that says
"Please see the release notes for the version of FreeBSD you are
installing."
