Looking at the Makefile in /usr/ports/security/cyrus-sasl2-saslauthd, it says (part of) .if defined(WITH_OPENLDAP_VER) WITH_OPENLDAP= yes WANT_OPENLDAP_VER= ${WITH_OPENLDAP_VER} .endif .if defined(WITH_OPENLDAP) .if defined(WANT_OPENLDAP_VER) && ${WANT_OPENLDAP_VER} == 12 BROKEN= "this port requires OpenLDAP >= 2.0" .endif USE_OPENLDAP= yes CONFIGURE_ARGS+=--with-ldap=${PREFIX} .endif I'm sure I can figure out how to build it with ldap as a normal configure-make-install, but I *want* to do it from the ports tree if possible.
