I'm taking a look at this, but I can't reproduce your problem.

I've added the plugin to my panel. Clicking on it gives me a menu with the
option "Properties" which actually opens a windows with some configurables =
in
it.

Can you confirm the plugin is now working as expected like it's doing on my
system?
