I am using xdm to automaticly start X upon boot up. In one of the configuration files, if it can't find ".xsession" in the users home directory it will run the X Session Manager. xsm is supposed to use either "$HOME/.xsmstartup" or "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xsm/system.xsm" to start the default X programs (twm, smproxy, xterm). Upon logging in xsm starts, screen resets and none of the programs are loaded from either .xsmstartup or the system.xsm files. Any body able to get xsm working and how? thanks Scot
