You need to let named start if you haven't aleady. There is a line in
sysconfig
that you just need to uncomment.

go into /etc/namedb and make sure named.boot exists and has an uncommented
line
for cache . named.root

That should be it as long as you haven't done anything to upset the
default configuration.
