No; TCP wrappers are independent of your firewall.

Also, and I'm ready to stand corrected, but iptable
isn't a part of FreeBSD, and aren't even ported AFAIK.

FreeBSD has ipfw, ipfilter, and ipf+altq, I believe.  See
the FreeBSD handbook, chapter 24.
