But the port maintainer told me the following (I emailed them privately before filing the PR): Changes to the ca-certificate port are always possible, but will be a bit slower than usual, because the certificate needs to be thoroughly checked for authenticity, reliability and reputation, amongst others. This may be the reason for the maintainer timeout.
