There are several bugs involving not turning the floppy motor off at the right time: * after booting from a floppy, the bootstrap doesn't turn the motor off; it is normally turned off when the floppy device is probed. The probe may be delayed for a long time if you boot with -c. The probe will not be called if a floppy device isn't configured/enabled. * after panics and perhaps even after normal shutdowns, the timeouts may be masked and/or the delays may not be long enough for the motor to be turned off.
