It should be good to have a look before 5.1 since dymanic nsswitch is
available.
I currently use FreeBSD 5.1-BETA with pam-mysql/libnss_mysql (have a
look a PR ports/51768) and it works well :) (except problems related to
non dymanic binairies)

this was my 2 cents advice :)
