Hello,
I'm Claudio from Pisa (Italy).
I have a problem with my new PC.

This is its configuration:
- processor: AMD ATHLON 800 Mhz Thunderbird
- motherboard: ASUS A7v Apollo kt133 ata100
- HD: IBM EIDE DTLA 307030 ata100

The software for the installation of FreeBSD4.4 (& also of
Linux RedHat 7.0) doesn't recognize my hard-disk, that is correctly =
connected.

The HD is on the bus ata100. I don't have others HDs but only a CD-ROM =
drive
on the bus ata66.

I didn't have any problems with the installation of Windows ME, but with =
the
installation of Windows 2000 yes.
So, during the installation of W2000, I had to stop it (key F6) and I =
had to
install some Promise drivers that I found on this page:
http://www.asus.com.tw/products/motherboard/driver_ide.html .

Now, what do I have to do for installing Linux?
Is there some driver for Linux and how can I install it?

I hope you'll help me.

Thanks

claudio
