I attended MNark's talk, via youtube live stream, at BSDCan. He pointed out 
the issues and that the search continues.

I come from a mainframe (MVS, z/OS) background working with NetView and 
JES/2 & JES/3, including 10,000 lines of assembler source code mods to 
JES/2. I personally would like to see a mainframe class solution however it 
does not fit the UNIX philosophy. I'm sure we could borrow ideas.
