I have ssh forwarding ports from a machine on the internet to another machine with a private IP here at my house. Everything works fine, except that the connection drops at irregular intervals, from 20 minutes to 2 or 3 days with a "connection reset by peer" message. I've experimented with keepalive and timeout in the config stuff to no avail. The only thing that seems to help is to run a script that sends the date from the remote server every 10 seconds. This makes it stay up for a couple days. What's going on here? Any ideas? It's very annoying.. -Jim Durham To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-security" in the body of the message
