Hi There,

I rebuilt the system last night. I added '-O3 -mcpu=1686 -march=i686 -fforce-addr -funroll-loops -frerun-cse-after-loop -frerun-loop-opt -malign-functions=4' to the CFLAGS line in /etc/make.conf to push the system. Everything compiled correctly including the default kernel. I'll create my own custom kernel tonight to get more performance out of it. If you are a speed freak like me use these optimizations, but if you are using them in a commercial/corporate environment be aware that the developers don't support anything past '-0' optimizations.

Once I get Gentoo Linux going, I'll do some performance tests and I might report back what I find. Cheers
