Um, that doesn't sound good.  Can you get to drive C:?  If not, have you 
checked your CMOS configuration lately?

Uh oh...Does your BIOS support EIDE disks?  Or did you load a program on
boot to get the support, like something from MICRO HOUSE INTERNATIONAL? 
(I hope it wasn't #2 or you're going to be very unhappy.)

This won't work since most BIOSs won't boot off the second IDE controller,
if you're setup like you say below.  You'll have to move your Toshiba to 
the second controller and your FreeBSD onto the primary controller.  

Someone said to try setting your freebsd drive as active.
