It's too bad because I'd like more time to tinker with this to see if I could get 5.1 loaded and running but I'm running out of time. =20 Thanks =20 Joe =20 -----Original Message----- From: Rapha=EBl Marmier [mailto:raphael@computer-rental.ch] Sent: Friday, August 08, 2003 2:53 PM To: Warner Joseph Cc: 'freebsd-questions@freebsd.org' Subject: Re: 5.1 & Compaq Smart Array I guess that's what you are looking for:=20 hint.acpi.0.disabled=3D1 # disable ACPI (i386 only)=20 in=20 http://www.FreeBSD.org/releases/5.1R/errata.html=20 I suppose it has to be put in /etc/sysctl.conf, but I'm not sure...=20 Rapha=EBl=20 Le Vendredi, 8 ao=FB 2003, =E0 15:18 Europe/Zurich, Warner Joseph a =E9crit= :=20 How difficult would it be to upgrade from 4.8 to 5.x ?=20 I've got to get this server going ASAP but I'd also like=20 to be able to upgrade to the 5.x series, especially when=20 5.2 comes out.=20 There should be a way to disable ACPI during boot up.
