>Description:

A -CURRENT kernel hangs at boot on a laptop ACER 507DX after these
lines:

pci0: <PCI bus> on pcib0
pci0: <multimedia, audio> at device 0.1 (no driver attached)
pci0: <simple comms> at device 0.2 (no driver attached)
pci0: <display, VGA> at device 2.0 (no driver attached)
cbb0: <O2Mirco OZ6812/6872 PCI-CardBus Bridge> irq 11 at device 6.0 on pci0
cardbus0: <CardBus bus> on cbb0
pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0
isab0: <PCI-ISA bridge> at device 7.0 on pci0
isa0: <ISA bus> on isab0
atapci0: <Intel PIIX4 ATA33 controller> port 0x8000-0x800f at device 7.1 on pci0
ata0: iobase=0x01f0 altiobase=0x03f6 bmaddr=0x8000

I used a live-cd from from Sat Aug 17 for that test.

I had a similar problem in past with 4.1-STABLE, have a look at:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=kern/21323

The problem was fixed, however if I add sound support in a 4.X kernel, I
have the same hang:

pccard0: <PC Card bus (classic)> on pcic0
isab0: <Intel 82443MX PCI to ISA bridge> at device 7.0 on pci0
isa0: <ISA bus> on isab0
atapci0: <Intel PIIX4 ATA33 controller> port 0x8000-0x800f at device 7.1 on pci0
ata0: iobase=0x01f0 altiobase=0x03f6 bmaddr=0x8000

It really seems to be the same problem.

Here's a boot -v from a working -STABLE kernel:
