            Bug ID: 190884
Summary: freebsd-update fetch keeps wanting to update to
                    9.2-RELEASE-p8
           Product: Base System
           Version: 9.2-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: Needs Triage
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: misc
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: grembo@FreeBSD.org

10 When using freebsd-update fetch I get:

Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 5 mirrors found.
Fetching metadata signature for 9.2-RELEASE from update4.freebsd.org...
done. Fetching metadata index... done.
Inspecting system... done.
Preparing to download files... done.

The following files will be updated as part of updating to
9.2-RELEASE-p8: /boot/kernel/linker.hints

Next I'll install

# freebsd-update install
Installing updates... done.

and reboot

# shutdown -r now

After reboot, the kernel is 9.2-RELEASE-p7 (not p8), since the vulnerability
fixed didn't include a kernel update.

So next time I'm calling "freebsd-update fetch" it's all 'goto 10'.
