Obviously I misread or misremeber something. Though I will still
swear on a stack of Bibles that I have read in official FreeBSD
documentation that a 486 is the minimum 'suggested' requirements. I will
also freely admit that I could be wrong. It's been known to happen. I am
not nor will I ever be perfect.

Ok... I think this could have been worded better. I got very
ticked off at first after reading this. People make mistakes. I have
helped many people on this mailing list get up and going, and have used
this resource many times myself. Just like any number of other people
here. *I* am attempting to be a viable member of the FreeBSD community
despite the number of problems I've encountered myself. I *CHOOSE* to
answer questions on this list because quite frankly I couldn't code my way
out of a wet paper bag. I can do not know enough about the system to write
better documentation. I take time out of my busy work day answering tech
support phone calls for people who are quite literally too stupid to turn
on their computers to the point that even I, with my legendary patience in
the office, want to wrap my hand around their throats and strangle
them.... to answer yet more RTFM questions here. I highly suspect that
many other people on this list are in the excact same situation.
You know why I do it? Because FreeBSD has been the single greatest
learning experience in my life! I owe my current job in part to being able
to run FreeBSD! I think that FreeBSD should be installed on more
computers! I think that given just a little bit more developement, more
money and advertising, plus the right links in the industry, FreeBSD could
actually take over the desktop and workstation markets. (Which I know is
not the goal, but I don't care!) I hand out free copies of the CDROM I've
bought, downloaded, and/or burned onto CD to get more people to use it!
I can easily see clearer now where 'we' seem to have a 'holier then
thou attitude' that can be very frustrating, especially to newbies. I
think we all should go back, read our own posts for errors, and try to
tone down the 'attitude'. And every one should realize that we all make
mistakes!
