lucky you. most for the record, there is an identical problem with the 
d-link dwl-650.
I noticed that the cards reported very similar info (perhaps just a 
coinsitent)

wi0: using RF:PRISM2.5 MAC:ISL3873
wi0: Intersil Firmware: Primary 1.00.07, Station 1.03.05

the Netgear MA301 said before firmware upgrade

wi0: Intersil Firmware: Primary 1.00.07, Station 1.03.06

i've suspected a firmware problem but there is no upgrade avaiable from 
d-link (at least i couldn't find any).
this problem is however, already reported. see kern/39928
