Much more seriously, if the intallation fails because of target problems (eg out of space because configuration of /usr partition specified 5kb in place of 5gb :-) you are forced to go through failures of each package you selected, as there is no way to abort the process. After that, you may still be in a loop, and end up having to power down. This is a likely event for a new user, and it looks very bad that it is so hard to abort a failing install.
