My main concern is that there is no *reliable* way to monitor the  
status of an Adaptec RAID system on FreeBSD/amd64.

Like I said before, if anyone wants 3 2230SLP RAID cards cheap, give  
me a holler. :-)  I've retired them (one of them is still new in box).
