I don't think so. This is only used for ia32 emulation on ia64.

I'm not entirely sure about that. I'm not sure ia32 emulation is
here to stay (from a hardware point of view). Even then, we may
want to decide to support up to 5-STABLE or 6-STABLE. I mostly
see it as a migration aid. I don't even have it enabled myself :-)
