Thanks..  I've filed the bug report.

One (hopefully last) question for you.  How do I get metacity
to use a mouse-click in its keyboard shortcuts?  Eg, I want
to be able to minimize a window using <Alt>right mouse button
 (directly, I don't want to bring up the "activate window menu"

My inability to make KDE do this is why I'm using gnome and sawfish.
